What the Heck is a Rib-Off, you ask?

The Rib-Off (also known as the South Eastern Sudden-Death Rib-Off Championships or "S.E.S.D.R.O.C." for short), is a rib cooking competition which began over 25 years ago and has been getting better ever since! This is the "Official" Rib-Off Home Page, which is administered by "HIS HONOR THE JUDGE" - Bob "Fatback" Green (hence...fatback.net).

Don't get the wrong idea...although we do put up some pretty damn good ribs, this is not the serious rib cooking contest that you might think!  Even though we do have OFFICIAL RIB-OFF RULES, and a "carved-in-stone" set of  RIB-OFF TEN COMMANDMENTS, and a list of the RIB-OFF BILL OF RIGHTS, actually, it's just a chance for the good folks of SELMA, ALABAMA and their friends from near and far to get together, eat ribs, drink whiskey, smoke cigars, listen to country music, hit golf balls, ride stick horses and look at pretty girls! (and in case you don't already know it, the PRETTIEST girls come from the South!). We even have a few RIB-OFF SNAPSHOTS that were taken at past Rib-Offs, so check 'em out!
